All of CNY Elevator's QEI inspectors have been certified through  NAESA International, Lift Tech or EIWPF. See our qualifications page for more information.

How much does a QEI elevator inspection cost?

The fee may be based on a fee schedule set by the local municipality. In other jurisdictions it will depend on the type and location of the conveyance. Periodic Inspections are generally a flat fee, while witnessing of tests is usually billed hourly, however we offer many options for your convenience.

We perform inspections throughout the United States. See our areas served page for more information.

How can I be sure that the inspector is providing a "certified" inspection?

First the inspector must meet the qualification of QEI-1 unless specifically exempted by State or Local law. A call to your local code enforcement agency should be able to help you.

Second, the QEI-1 certified inspector should be required to present proof of their current certification. Additionally, proof of adequate insurance meeting the requirements of local or State laws should always be required.

Third, a QEI-1 certified inspector is not permitted to perform inspections on conveyances for which they have a clear financial interest. It is considered unethical for any QEI-1 certified inspector to perform an inspection on a conveyance for which the they have a financial interest in the results, and it is prohibited. In all cases, before agreeing to allow a QEI inspector to perform any inspections it should be completely understood that they are independent and acting on behalf of the Authority Having Jurisdiction only.

Are CNYEI's inspectors certified and independent?

All CNYEI inspectors carry current QEI-1 Certifications issued through the National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities International or the EIWPF.  CNYEI inspectors carry both general liability and errors and omissions insurance. CNYEI inspectors are licensed in many municipalities and approved by many State agencies. CNYEI never offers certified inspections unless approved or employed by the Authority Having Jurisdiction. CNYEI is 100% independent. CNYEI does not sell or manufacture conveyances.
